I would like to thank my crew and everyone that pitched in and helped get the track ready for Saturday nights race. A big thank you to Cory Malcom, Wayne Brown, Bill Wickberg and some of the drivers for getting the water pumped out of turn 3 allowing us to road grade fresh dirt into the wet area, I had spent a lot of time on changing the banking and with the amount of moisture, the track was extremely fast allowing a new track record of 16.812 by 01 Michael Hale. Fast lap time for sport mods was set by 91 of Kenny Vollmer at 17.583. I would also like to thank Ken and Shelly Hansen and all of the IMCA Modified drivers that came out to support the Tour series. With mother nature not allowing us to race on Friday everyone at the track hoped for a Saturday race, and encouraged us to continue. I did not conduct the race to be ignorant or to make money, I knew I was going to lose either way, I did it because I felt obligated to the drivers that were already at the track. I also felt that if we could race the track would be a good race surface with the extra moisture. I am uncertain but I was told that crate motors did not finish in the top at Saturday nights race. My opinion is that all of the cars that normally do well on Atomic dry slick did not do so well at Saturdays race, the cars that run well on wet and tacky with lots of horsepower dominated. I would also like to congragulate Michael Hale and Richard Mueller for their wins in the main events. The look on their faces and the big thank you I received when I handed them the Atomic signature trophies made the whole weekend worth while. The next race will determine the season champions, I considered canceling this race for lack of car count but after hearing that some of the Mod drivers would not be attending, I felt that I would be pre selecting the season champions. We will finish out the season and present year end awards to drivers that bought memberships, then decide on next year. Clem
